Calling all Book Lovers

OK, OK, I was going to try to post at least once a month (I know, that's really pathetic, but I'm just not a good blogger...) and I'm really overdue. My excuse this time is that I'm expecting (as you can see on my sidebar) and haven't been feeling at the top of my game, to put it mildly. And then, as soon as I began to feel like a natural woman again, we went on vacation. I'm going to post about that once I get my pics downloaded and uploaded and all that jazz.

In the meantime, I have a book to recommend to all you SAHM out there, since it's summer and you have unlimited reading time, right?!? Right. Anyway, it's called Keeping House: The Litany of Everyday Life, by Margaret Kim Peterson. It's a great encouragement and challenge about what keeping house REALLY is, biblically and theologically, as well as practically. I'm lovin' it. Have any of you out there already read/heard of this book?!?

Till later, then.

I just stumbled upon your blog through femina.reformedblogs.com. Yes, I have read Keeping House and can't stop recommending it to every lady I know! It is a refreshing read; more philosophical than any other house keeping book I have read. Peterson brings to the forefront Christian virtue in areas of life I had not thought of before. This is a good one to read and reread. Meg

Hi,
I also stumbled upon you via Femina....a few months ago a response of yours cought my attention and I looked at your blog.
I am writing because I recognize your husbands name....maybe. I think I might have known him when he was a little guy. Did he ever live in Brevard NC?
I wonder if he might have been our pastor's son when I was in my late teens....and he was just a little guy.

Hi Missy - thanks for commenting. I think your hunch is correct! My husband did grow up in Brevard and his father was a pastor of a PCA church there - in fact, he remembers your family 8-)! Small world...are you still in the Brevard area?!?

Hi...
I have been away, or "in and out" for a few weeks.
So much fun that Scott would remember us. My mother, brother and sister are in Hendersonville and Asheville. I am way up in Toronto, missing NC!
Congratulations of your 6th!
We have six of our own (Our pattern is b-g-b-g-b-g), it is such a great life with a house full of kids. We are also homeschooling, and every day is full.
Please greet all the Davenports for us. My e-mail is missyween@yahoo.ca.
My best to you all,
Missy
